Lee and Marilyn live in the San Francisco Bay Area where there is no shortage of natural beauty to photograph and paint. They like to travel, looking for things others don't see. They are true believers in the motto of Henry David Thoreau: "It's not what you're looking at that matters, it's what you see."Marilyn started painting in oils and watercolors while growing up in New England. She has now settled on watercolors because of their fresh, translucent quality, and paints from her own photographs. A member of the San Carlos Fine Arts Association, she has studied with local watercolorists Joyce Faulknor, and attended workshops given by Jan Kuntz, and Sonja Hamilton.
Lee studied art in Pittsburgh, his hometown. Not being able to draw or paint very well led him to photography as a way to capture what he sees outdoors. He has spent many hours reading and studying the teachings and writings of some of the best and most distinguished photographers of the past as well as some of today's contemporaries. He strives for the very best in his images, and hopes that those viewing them will enjoy and appreciate the beauty of nature as seen by his eyes. Lee is a member of the Photographic Society of America.
